Tour - How to Pick Stocks on StocksBuddy.com

Follow these steps in order.

Step 1

• Login to your account using the userid you created.
• Once you login, you will notice your Name and Logout on the top navigation bar(circled in red above).
• Just click on the link from menu that says "Pick a Stock" or you can opt to click on this link from your Profile Page.
• Take a look a the Image below.

Step 2

• Next step is to pick a stock. You need to input some values and others are automatically added for you.
• Every Field on this page has a "?" next to it. Hover/Move your mouse over this and you will find a detailed help/explanation on what that field means and how to use it. Again circled in red.
• The ONLY way to Pick Stocks is by clicking on either the Symbol link or the Company link (circled in red below). Depending upon which one you choice, It will open up a new window upon clicking.

Step 3

• Just key first few characters in the company name or symbol (depending upon which link you clicked from the Stock Pick page) in the box provided and it will give you the results in a drop-down box.
• Just click on the stock of your choice and it will take you back to the stock pick page.

• The fields circled in the picture below with red are always auto-filled and you CANNOT manually enter values.
• Next, just keep entering the rest of the information.
• Set a Target price.
• Duration by default is 3 days. If you are picking stock for a longer period of time, choose the respective option. Remember, your Ranking will be affected if you do not pick the right stock as your pick may be closed earlier than you think. For example, you pick a stock with a target that you believe will be reached in One month. You state this clearly in the Analysis box. However, you do NOT pick the respective value in the timeframe field. Your pick will be closed in 3 days (default). Now after a month even if the stock hits targets, your valuable research and pick goes in vain.
• Risk too is an important factor.
• Portfolio weightage is very important factor while calculating your Overall Performance and hence please go through the help on ? link adjacent to this field.
• Every stock you pick, you have the option of just picking it or adding it to your own portfolio. Please go through the help on ? link and FAQs to find out the difference.
• After this follows Analysis. Make sure you add your valuable thoughts as to why you are picking a specific stock. Remember, it serves dual purpose to add both the title as well as the reason for picking the stock. 1) Visitors will get to know you better and your analysis. Your popularity on the charts is bound to increase. 2) Other members may like your analysis and Rate your stock. The more and higher the rating the better your chances for higher SB Ranking.

Step 4

Thank's it. Voila. Your Stock Pick has now shaped up. It is now open for other members to view and comment upon. If other members have added you as their friend, then your Pick will be visible to them immediately.

Great! You made your stock pick. Now What? Contribute to the community by adding your valuable thoughts and rate other's Stock Picks too. After all, community is always "give and take". You are more than welcome to Add as many stock picks as you can. No limits.

All picks go through a very complex calculation process at the end of Every Trading day. And you can view your Stock Pick Performance at the end of the day. Please check our FAQ's for more details.
