What is a Scam?
In simple terms a Scam is a process of attracting customers into something that may or may not be legitimate/beneficial/fruitful act.
What kind of scams are on SB?
Ideally speaking the type of acts you may potentially be exposed to would not fall under a "Scam" definition, but they would still be on those lines. Since this is a Free for all community, anybody could just join and start posting messages so as to attract visitors/members to subscribe to his/her products. Though we at StocksBuddy.com monitor and disallow any type of advertising or similar activities/scams, you must understand that it may NOT always be possible to monitor activity on a minute-by-minute basis on a Site that is the MOST popular site for Indian Traders in India. Hence, we ask you, as our visitor/member to do your due-diligence before getting attracted to any visitor/member comments.
Can you give me an example?
Someone joins and posts a stock pick and within the pick he/she asks you to contact them giving their phone number. They could also have a link asking you to visit it for more stock tips or the likes. There may be other ways this is done, but these are the most common.
What should i be aware of?
Most important thing to bear in mind is the person's reputation. SB does NOT recommend or Vouch any member/visitor of this site to contact/buy products from anybody. However, SB rank is a fair way to finding how strong or weak a Trader is with his/her trading style. Hence, if you MUST follow someone, make sure you follow only the elite members as they are officially allowed to promote themselves and their websites/products. Remember, SB does NOT vouch or guarantee even the elite members, it just offers a means for such elite members to promote themselves.
I found someone posting the same link/phone number in multiple posts, what should i do?
Please provide us with a URL and the user details and we will investigate. If found guilty, we will Bar that member from SB community. Again, please Help us help you better. Hence, we urge you to take this one step and get in touch with us.
